Responsabilities:
Manage the Sustainable Energy Section and its 4-5 staff. This includes managing the evaluation and recruitment processes for staff as well as planning resource use and reporting regularly to the Division Director;
Competencies:
The incumbent must have a good general understanding of the global energy issues, emerging energy security risks, role of energy efficiency and the potential impact of sustainable energy policies.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in economics, engineering or energy-related technology, or a first degree with a relevant combination of professional and academic qualifications.
Experience:
A minimum of ten years extensive experience in energy matters (supply industries, research, government, non-governmental organisations, field service, private sector company).
Languages:
Fluency in English or French; drafting ability in English or French. Knowledge of Russian an asset; knowledge of other languages relevant to the UNECE region an advantage.
Others:
Demonstrated mediation and negotiation skills desirable.
