Job offer description:

Responsabilities:
Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the SSS; ensures that SSS staff discharge their duties in accordance with UN policies and security and safety procedures;
Competencies:
Excellent knowledge of security management, combined with solid background of military, police or other security specialization, and some political and social knowledge of Latin America and Chile specifically.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) preferably in social/political science, law, criminal justice, public/business administration or security management.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in security, police or military service with extensive command or leadership experience.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written Spanish and English is essential, as verified through relevant exams, if necessary. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
Others:
Good technical skills to understand and direct the implementation and utilization of physical security systems are desirable.
