Responsabilities:
Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action.

Professionalism - Knowledge and understanding of environmental science as it relates to programme and project implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation methods.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental science, business administration, economics or a related field. A first university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years progressively responsible experience in programme/project management and/or coordination; a minimum of 3 years experience at the international level in monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programmatic performance.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required; working knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of other United Nations languages an asset.
Others:
Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Internet, Email) are required.
