Job offer description: City: Paris Country: FRANCE Responsabilities: Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. Competencies: Professionalism: Demonstrates professional competence with information and communications issues through knowledge and practical experience of communication approaches and tools.

Qualifications: Education: An advanced university degree in communication, international relations, public affairs, journalism or a related field. A first university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Experience: A minimum of seven years of professional experience in the field of information or communications. Working experience in the UN or other international organization is an asset. Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required; working knowledge of French is highly desirable. Others: Excellent drafting skills in English. Good understanding of environmental issues.
