Responsabilities:

Provide substantive, analytical and administrative support to the Executive Secretary in relation to the Governing Bodies: Be responsible for the enhancement of the Secretariat's relationship with Governments.

Competencies:

Professionalism: Knowledge of UNEP and CBD policies, activities and programmes as well as knowledge of UN Rules and Regulations; Demonstrated professional competence in the field of sustainable development and multilateral relations.

Qualifications:

Education:

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental, social or political science, business administration, environmental management or related area.

Experience:

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in the field of sustainable development or environment related programmes, public administration and environmental conventions or related field.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Others:

Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet) are required.
